The Mayor of the Municipality of Kočani, Ljupcho Papazov, Presented Us with a Certificate of Appreciation Today

In recognition of the efforts of the “Bright Minds” Association to encourage and support girls in studying informatics, the Mayor of the Municipality of Kočani, Ljupcho Papazov, presented us with a Certificate of Appreciation today.

“We would like to express our gratitude for encouraging and supporting girls in studying informatics. This is a field in which girls and women are underrepresented, and it is our responsibility to help make it more accessible to them,” emphasized Mayor Papazov.

“It is a fact that the number of female students interested in informatics is very small. For example, there were almost no girls participating in the free online informatics courses organized by Bright Minds last year. I hope that, together with the Municipality of Kočani, we will succeed in finding ways to recognize their interests and abilities, as well as motivate them to study informatics,” said Atanasova-Grchev.

According to the Mayor's announcement, financial resources will be allocated in the Municipality of Kočani's budget for the following year, through the Local Action Plan for Equal Opportunities for Women and Men, to provide scholarships for female students.
