As a sign of respect for the commitment of the “Clear Umi” Association to encourage and support girls in the study of informatics, the mayor of the Municipality of Kočani Ljupcho Papazov presented us with a Certificate of Appreciation today.
– We want to express our gratitude that you encourage and support girls in studying informatics. It is an area in which girls and women are less represented, so our task is to contribute to making it as accessible as possible for them as well – emphasized Mayor Papazov.
– It is a fact that the number of students interested in informatics is very small. As an illustration, in the free online courses in informatics organized by “Brist Umi” last year, there were almost no girls. I hope that together with the Municipality of Kočani we will manage to find ways to recognize their interests and abilities, as well as motivation for studying informatics – said Atanasova Grchev.
According to the announcements of the mayor, in the Budget of the Municipality of Kočani for the coming year, through the Local Action Plan for equal opportunities for women and men, financial resources will be planned for scholarships for schoolgirls
